Winter Planting: December – February
Hellebores come into their own at this time of year. They don’t mind how wet or cold the weather is and this is their time to shine.
For outstanding foliage colour throughout the year Heucheras are unsurpassed. They come in shades of bronze, purples, lime green and green.
Winter Heathers will carry on flowering until April in shades of red, pinks and white.
Bare rooted stock is a very economical way to plant hedging and winter is an ideal time to do this. Stock is not kept at the Nursery and you can order or check availability/prices by phoning us or sending us an email.
Potted bulbs are now available in small and large pots and are ideal if you did not get around to planting them in the Autumn. They also make great Gifts and can be planted in containers, wicker baskets or directly into the ground. Varieties include: Minature Daffoldils, Hyacinths and Tulips. Snowdrops will also be available in flower at the end of January.
Primroses offer another taste of Spring, but with more vibrant colours and they come in single and double flower varieties. The best choice is available from late February.
